About the Artist

Hayley Wilson is an Australian Artist who has been living and working in the UK and has recently returned to Brisbane.

Born into a family of creatives, Hayley's first introduction to brushwork was through accompanying her father while he worked as a traditional sign-writer. These early childhood memories have led to a life filled with a deep appreciation for the arts and painting. Over the last few years, Hayley's highly textured and uplifting oil paintings have developed a growing following, enabling her to fulfil a lifelong dream and work professionally as an artist.

Growing up on the Sunshine Coast in Australia gave Hayley the chance to experience the calm and tranquillity that nature's presence bequeaths. Her extraordinary gratitude for the sound of rippling waves, the fluttering of green branches in a balmy breeze and the sensation of warm sand beneath her feet is reflected in the serenity of her paintings. Viewers are captured by Hayley's use of soft, earthy colours and left inspired by the untouched landscapes and seascapes she chooses as her subject matter.

Working with oil paints, Hayley says:

“I adore painting with the colours I use and try to convey the sense of tranquillity and peace you have when looking at water or any landscape scene. I spent a lot of time in the COVID lockdown in the depths of a UK winter, dreaming of the beaches. So instead, I painted them and filled the rooms around me. I love to look at my paintings and feel like I'm on a holiday."
